The Canadian Islamic Chamber of Commerce is formally affiliated with several other chambers of commerce and business organizatons, both federally and locally. These affiliations are important to our members and confirm the level of support CICC has from the established business community.
Winnipeg Chamber of Commerce
The Winnipeg Chamber of Commerce (WCC) is the leading organization representing business in our community. Incorporated as The Winnipeg Board of Trade by an act of the Provincial Legislature on March 8, 1873. The Chamber is older than the City of Winnipeg by six months.
For 130 years, The Winnipeg Chamber of Commerce has served as the “voice of business”, ensuring that the business perspective is heard on the issues of the day.
The Winnipeg Chapter of CICC has close ties with the Winnipeg Chamber of Commerce and the two organizations work in close cooperation with one another. Each member of CICC is automatically provided a membership in WCC with access to all of the benefits therein.
Canadian Chamber of Commerce
The Canadian Chamber of Commerce is “The Voice of Canadian Business”.
Since 1925, the Canadian Chamber of Commerce has been the largest and most influential advocate for business in Canada. Founded with the aim of creating a strong, unified voice for Canadian business and a set of values from which policies encouraging prosperity would emerge, the Canadian Chamber of Commerce continues to be the only voluntary, non-political association that has an organized grassroots affiliate in every federal riding.
As the national leader in public policy advocacy on business issues, the Canadian Chamber of Commerce’s mission is to foster a strong, competitive, and profitable economic environment that benefits, not only business, but all Canadians.
International Chamber of Commerce (ICC)
ICC (International Chamber of Commerce) is the voice of world business championing the global economy as a force for economic growth, job creation and prosperity.
Because national economies are now so closely interwoven, government decisions have far stronger international reper-cussions than in the past.
ICC – the world’s only truly global business organization responds by being more assertive in expressing business views.
ICC activities cover a broad spectrum, from arbitration and dispute resolution to making the case for open trade and the market economy system, business self-regulation, fighting corruption or combating commercial crime.
ICC has direct access to national governments all over the world through its national committees. The organization’s Paris-based international secretariat feeds business views into intergovernmental organizations on issues that directly affect business operations.
