Is CICC affiliated with any other Islamic organization?
No. CICC is entirely independent and founded upon it’s own principles and ideologies.
How do I know that this is a legitimate organization that will stand the test of time?
CICC has a group of leaders dedicated to the goal of developing a highly organized and well-respected organization. We are recognized by, and affiliated with, highly-respected organizations like the Winnipeg Chamber of Commerce, Canadian Chamber of Commerce and International Chamber of Commerce. This speaks to the acceptance, competence and potential of the organization.
Is this a religious organization? Do I have to be religious to join?
No. While CICC is founded upon the basic ethics and teachings of Islam, and is here to assist Muslims with their unique business needs, it is not a religious organization. CICC is first and foremost a business networking organization. It advocates mainly on behalf of it’s members’ economic and business needs.
Does CICC operate in isolation and separate from other businesses and business groups?
While some business groups operate in isolation from, and in competition with, other groups, we believe that this is a mistake. It is to the mutual benefit to our members to work in cooperation with other businesses. Our objectives are not based upon competing with non-Muslims. We believe that through integration and cooperation we can achieve a much more dynamic business community. As noted above we are formally affiliated with Winnipeg Chamber of Commerce, Canadian Chamber of Commerce and International Chamber of Commerce.
Why does CICC need to exist if one can simply join an existing Chamber?
Muslims have special needs and special interests. We have some economic issues that are unique to our community. The Muslim community is also in a different stage of growth with regard to our organizations, our youth, our institutions and our businesses. The benefits of uniting as a business group are many; and this could not be achieved through other means. But this is not in conflict with business networking and advocay on a greater and more general level. We woulld like to be involved on both levels.
